Salvation Army: Red Kettle Holiday Drive
Arm with holiday songs and a bell, the Chapter proudly bares the elements to raise funds for the Salvation Army.
Homeless Single Mothers
Accepted the request from a local women’s shelter by sponsoring one of their bedroom suites, which includes bunk beds and a bathroom, at their homeless shelter for single mothers. We help by providing certain items (comforter sets, pillows, sheets, rugs, toiletries etc.).
The Golden Harvest Food Drive
This local community event designed to conduct a successful food drive of non-perishable food items and delivered them to a food site in the Vicksburg community that feeds the homeless or we feed the homeless in the Vicksburg community by serving the less fortunate a hot meal.
Health & Wellness
In our efforts to promote health and well-being, our chapter provides opportunities for people to develop lifelong habits and strategies to lead healthier lifestyles.
March of Dimes (March for Babies)
Along with our efforts with the Project Alpha Leadership Club. The OPL Chapter and OPLEF also financially supports the efforts of the March of Dimes organization which promotes pregnancy and baby health along with research on prevention of birth defects.
Relay for Life
Help by donating to the American Cancer Society of a certain amount through a created fundraiser or by direct disbursement of funds.
Coronavirus Awareness
Produces Virtual Talk on Coronavirus Awareness videos that informs people of the danger of the Coronavirus and the benefits of receiving the vaccine.
Voting Initiative
Doing the work of Alpha! On July 29, 2023, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Omicron Rho Lambda Chapter, and Omicron Rho Lambda Educational Foundation partnered with the Medgar and Angela Scott Foundation for the Vicksburg Voter Initiative. Make Your Plan to Vote!
